Video from The Big Feast

Below is the YouTube video I made of The Big Feast. The credits are in no particular order and I apologize for the long pauses between some names. The movie editing program I use will only let me put 6 credits in at a time and it won't let me shorten the length between transitions. If I missed someone in the credits, I apologize.

The TransformationFrom The 21st Century To The 16th Century

You all had seen the site in its 21st century version from both the video posted in a previous livejournal entry and from these pictures below:

Now see that same room go through a time warp to the late 16th century.  Woo hoo!!!  Y'all rock!!

Jugs/Mugs From Gudrun

The mugs/jugs that Lady Gudrun made based on an example in the Victoria and Albert Museum.  She made 20 of them and they are all different sizes though of similar styles.  I was thinking that they would be good for the sauces (like for the salmon).

Feast Gear for The Big Feast

Below are pictures of the feast gear set being used at The Big Feast and which will also be available for purchase after the feast is over.  The set consists of a pewter spoon (produced by Pewter Replicas in the UK), a knife (made by Lord Alonso Giovanni da Livorno of Mons Tonitrus), a wood trencher (made by Lord William the Millwright of SunDragon), and a ceramic goblet (made by Mistress Waine Nogard of Greenbriar of Twin Moons).  The quarters are in the pictures to give a sense of scale.

The feast gear is being sold at a discounted price of $15 a set to those who have helped with The Big Feast (either in preparations or the day of).  It is being sold for $25 a set to everyone else. Dibs on the sets go first to the feast volunteers.

There will be other items sold after The Big Feast (like some of the serving gear) and information will be given about them later.

Estrella Items for The Big Feast

So I was shopping on Merchant's Row at Estrella and I found the perfect pitchers for The Big Feast in Duke Aaron's booth.  The pitchers were painted by Lady Grainne the Red in a 16th century majolica style.  An image of them follows:

Also, at Estrella I picked up an order I commissioned from Lady Aasni of Tir Ysgithr.  They are four mugs also painted in a 16th century majolica style.

Portable Mud Oven

It looks like there is going to be a mud oven in the SunDragon encampment this year at Estrella.  I've heard from Leticia, William, and Jacquelin about it so you'll have to ask them for all of the details.  However, I did manage to capture a few pictures of the runthrough that Leticia did to get a size and brick count.

Bench-Making Workshops and William's Benches

The bench-making workshops were a great success.  Many double and single benches were built.  Enough for 23 sitting places.  Only 17 more places are needed to cover the estimated number for The Big Feast (although extras are definitely welcome). William Millwright came up with a great design and I am grateful for all of his hard work.

He also was able to complete two single benches with backs for himself.  A couple of images of one of these benches follows.  Isn't it beautiful?

Here's a photo of the bench (single version) that we are making for The Big Feast.  It is 28 inches long.  The double version is 48 inches.
